Unit 5: Mendelian Genetics Exam

Our next exam will be this Friday November 21st! The exam will consist of ONLY 50 multiple choice questions. Topics worth investigating include:
  • Gregor Mendel and his experiments on pea plants;
  • Mendel's two laws: law of independent assortment & law of segregation;
  • Basic Mendelian genetics (complete dominance/ dominant & recessive alleles; homozygous/ heterozygous/ test cross/ genotype/ phenotype/ monohybrid & dihybrid crosses);
  • Modified Mendelian Genetics (codominance, incomplete dominance, and multiple alleles)
  • Epistasis/ Polygenic inheritance/ Pleiotropy
  • Autosomes/ Sex Chromosomes (Sex-linked genetic traits & sex determination)
  • Linked genes
  • Genetic recombination
  • Gene mapping
  • Mutations
